they are paying absolute shit to do this but i can not turn down any freelance work at the moment especially international shit. heres the logo on a business card i created. any criticism would be most excellent. its for a marketing firm promoting "pub crawls" in buenos aires. they are happy with the castle illustration which is significant to their company. i could use some help on the type but they like the seriff block type stuff.

p.s. these are the colors they want crimson red or forrest green. eck.

a tech buddy of mine from back home is predicting what
we can only hope will happen this year, the verizon iphone.

I left class around 520pm and rushed over to scad to only find myself completely engulfed by atlanta traffic. I ended up arriving with moments to spare and thankfully got into the presentation.

The place was completely packed out with a well enthused crowd in attendance. Massimo is quite the character, he led us through a journey of his career and showed plenty of slides for our viewing pleasure. What really struck me is that he has had his hands in many industrial designs over the years. He really has done every aspect of design you can think of, even fashion, but I will get into that later. Massimo briefly gave a back story of his life, which was interesting to me, then led into his design career. He showed all his well known clients from over the years and touched on what good design really is. Massimo mentioned that there are really only 6 typefaces that are legitimate for use (im trying my best to remember all of these) this is what I can remember, Helvetica, Bodoni, Futura, Garamond, thats all i can think of at the moment. Does he only need 6 pairs of socks, 6 favorite songs? Oh well. So he concluded his presentation with his new line of fasion, yes, fashion. He has designed some mens suits as well as womens watches and jewelry. That made me pretty impressed that after all these years hes still pushing his sense of design into other areas. Oh, and he also made a joke, he refers to designing before computers as "BC". Get it. Before computers. Ha.

This is a candid photo I took when I first got there. I wasnt sure about how he felt getting his picture taken but soon realized that he was alright with that.

This woman was really happy to meet Massimo.

I ended up hanging out with a friend after the presentation on the 5th floor at Scad. Atlanta can be beautiful sometimes.

for Rushmore today but did not get the camera till
after sun down. so with no day light, andrew is knocking
out his filming. hes getting some nice dark shots with

i got my print from the cmc done at like
830 last night then headed over to cvs to
pick up a piece of poster board. so i just
spray mounted the print to the poster board
to give it more structure. cut it out with
ruler and box cutter. used the bone folder we got
from class which was super helpful with the craft
(thanks again stan). but yea im happy with the first
mock up.

i want the back of max to be shown to the viewer.
the idea is to have him scratch some gnarly pattern
throughout the whole composition. the scratch will
get more intense as the illustration progresses.

the pattern thats in the stump is what will define the brand.
stump jump is from australia and i feel the pattern reflects it.
i plan on using pyrography to burn the pattern on the back of the

here is an initial sketch. i plan on working
on plenty of different stumps and maybe having
something jumping over the stump, the vineyard
is in australia so i could use a kangaroo. but
maybe ill have something not so expected jumping,
who knows. i already know what i will be doing
with the box, i have a wood burning pen that i used
a lot when i was younger to just burn pictures
into wood. it would be a great tool to replicate
the pattern on the logo to the back of the box.
